MorningStar Church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor, with a primary emphasis in children’s ministry. Located in Tampa, Florida, we are a Bible-centered, purpose-driven, Spirit-filled, multi-cultural church with a weekend attendance of approximately 175. Candidates for this position must first be able to provide dynamic, visionary leadership for ministry to children ranging from infants through the 5th grade, with a goal of transforming these children into committed followers of Christ. Responsibilities include vision casting, leadership training, budget management, strategizing, and the planning and implementation of ministry programs in keeping with the church's overall vision.
In addition, candidates must also be capable of leading one other major area of church ministry at a high level, based on his/her qualifications, giftedness and passion. Possibilities include student/youth ministry, general discipleship and small groups, administration/accounting, missions/outreach, etc.
Candidates for this position must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and must be able to demonstrate the reality of that relationship through their lives and their testimonies. Candidates should be high-level leaders, creative, passionate about students, energetic, hard working, team oriented, and able to motivate others. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in children’s ministry and possess a bachelor's degree in a related discipline. Formal training in children’s ministry or another area of pastoral ministry is preferred. The ability to communicate in Spanish is also preferred.
