Who We Are:
Trinity Presbyterian Church has been meeting the spiritual needs of the residents of Southeast Boise and neighboring areas for over 100 years. The church celebrated its centennial year in September 1994. Over its one hundred year history, the church has been in three locations. In the fall of 2005, the church relocated to its new facility constructed below the bluff of the Oregon Trail Reserve in Surprise Valley.
Trinity is an emerging Presbyterian Church for the century 21st. We have our eyes on the future without cutting our links to the past. We seek to re-engineer the traditions of the church and community to connect today’s culture with the full embrace of God’s grace through Jesus.
Trinity is a diverse faith community, fearlessly and passionately committed to reach those who have not yet connected with Jesus Christ or the Body of Christ. We are committed to equip and empower transformed people of all faith levels to live out a Christ-centered life, and to help people discover their God-given gifts and encourage them to use their gifts to serve Christ in the community. We are a friendly, vibrant, Christ centered congregation committed to meaningful worship (traditional and contemporary), compassion for others, mission outreach and Christian education for all ages.
Our membership reflects the diversity of the area. With a University in the neighborhood, as well as several large corporate headquarters, members come from a variety of occupational and cultural backgrounds. Our church is blessed with an active, talented, and committed membership, who contribute to a dynamic leadership base.
Our message is the Good News that God in love has acted on our behalf in Jesus and that through Jesus we can experience a life-transforming relationship with God and others.
To fearlessly and passionately reach those who have not yet connected with Jesus Christ or the faith community means that Trinity is committed to making ministry both culturally relevant and engaging. It is committed to creating a hospitable climate and a welcoming community where the stranger is taken seriously. It means doing ministry with reckless abandon within the context of the Gospel to reach new people and help them grow in their relationship with Christ. It means that concepts such as imagination, innovation, risk, relevance, change, flexibility, excellence and the freedom to fail are operating values.
