GENERAL SUMMARY (What is done and why)

 

Coordinate all preschool ministries of the church including Sunday School, Discipleship, Vacation Bible School, weekday preschool education programs, and childcare services.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Majority of duties performed, but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary.)

                                                                                                                                                                    

  • Enlist, train and develop volunteer leadership in the Preschool Division.
  • Employ Preschool Education Ministry Assistant
  • Employ Preschool Education Coordinator
  • Plan, promote and supervise a program of education, evangelism, discipleship and activities for the Preschool Division through Sunday School, Discipleship Training, special activities and age appropriate events.
  • Employ and supervise the Childcare “Kids Kare” Coordinator.
  • Employ, supervise the “Children’s Day Out” Coordinator.
  • Work closely with paid Coordinators with Personnel matters.
  • Work closely with Coordinator in calendar and fiscal planning and oversight which reflects the goals of the church for these ministry programs.
  • Work closely with these paid programs to ensure the most church members involvement and participation is attained. These programs are the church’s expression of our mission not a subcontracted service disconnected from our mission. Utilizing our members as volunteers and in paid positions is a priority. Creating an atmosphere rich in parent involvement and “buy in” is a priority.
  • Work to ensure all programs reflect values and teaching the church holds dear.
  • Lead the Preschool Division in visitation, outreach, care, ministry to prospects and members.
  • Attend conferences that will enhance your continuing professional effectiveness and spiritual health in ministry to preschoolers and parents.
  • Prepare, submit and administer the budget for Preschool Education Ministries.
  • Support the ongoing ministry of the church and lead by example through faithfulness in tithing and worship attendance.
  • Develop personal spiritual growth through a regular program of prayer and Bible study.
  • Accept any other assignments made by the Business Administrator.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certifications normally required to perform the duties of this position.   • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills. 
  • Adequate interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be a baptized Christian specifically recognized by the Church, and be in agreement with the accepted theological doctrines of the Church. 

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

Internal: Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.

External: Almost no outside travel is required.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (The physical effort generally associated with this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds such as files, documents, and computer printouts. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS (Positions with which incumbent has contact and the reason. Peers are employees with similar authority and decision making responsibilities who may or may not report to the same manager.)
