Position Description and Agreement



Children’s Pastor           



Indirectly to the Executive Director of Ministry Services and Directly to the Lead Pastor 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of all aspects of the Sunday morning children’s ministry for multiple services.
  • Scheduling of all hopeKid’s volunteer teams and providing team members with a schedule in advance of the Sunday they will serve.
  • In the event that a team member is unable to perform their duties the Children’s Pastor will cover the service or find a replacement.
  • Copy and distribute curriculum to each team member prior to his or her service opportunity. Purchase necessary supplies that are required by the curriculum.    
  • Conduct team meetings to keep volunteers informed and encouraged.  
  • Coordinate the registration of children prior to worship services.  
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new hopeKid’s team members.
  • Observe staff office hours and attend staff meetings.
  • Maintain a safe and loving environment for children.
  • Maintain a spirit of unity between volunteers and leadership

Work Schedule:   

A typical workweek would be a minimum of 30 hours under normal circumstances. Special events or other ministry opportunities will require additional time.
