Job Description:

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about loving and following Jesus Christ and who is called, gifted, and effective at leading and equipping middle school and high school students. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, teachable, team-oriented, and relational.

  • Passionate about teaching God’s Word to younger generations in a variety of settings
  • Relates well to students with varying family backgrounds and spiritual awareness

  • Team-Oriented—eager to build ministry and personal relationships with other staff members
  • Self-motivated problem solver, not easily frustrated, flexible
  • Desires to help others discover and use their gifts to serve God’s Kingdom
  • Administratively above average

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement philosophically sound ministry programs and events:
  1. Help teens draw near to God with sincere hearts
  2. Provide service and mission opportunities inside and outside FBC
  3. Provide outreach and regular engagement to un-churched people
  • Maintain and recruit a student leader team
  • Collaborate with the adult leader team in creating, developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective student ministry
  • Plan a mid-week worship experience engaging to teenagers
  • Provide a Sunday school experience for teenagers each week
  • Develop an annual strategic ministry plan
  • Meet with the lead pastor weekly for encouragement, mentoring, and performance reviews
  • Oversee and administer the student ministry budget
  • Create a yearly event and teaching topic calendar
  • Help develop and enforce policies and procedures pertinent to youth ministry and safety
  • Maintain regular communication with students and parents through a variety of mediums
  • Provide pastoral care to students, including hospital visits when applicable
  • Monitor the coordination and use of all youth equipment and facilities
