Job Description:

Grace Christian Fellowship is a 15-year-old non-denominational multisite church in Spokane Washington with roughly 500 people attending on Sunday mornings. We are hiring for our central campus, which has around 300 people. Spokane county is located on the East side of Washington state and has a population of 500,000 people.

 

The central campus preaching pastor will work under the direction and supervision of the lead pastor and elders of GCF.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Primary preacher at the central campus
  • Develop leaders at the central campus
  • Provide pastoral care for the members of the central campus
  • Sit on the elder board

 

 SKILLS

 
  • Strong preaching and teaching skills
  • A heart to study doctrine, the bible, and church history
  • Ability to think theologically about all of life
  • Excellent people skills with a relational tone
  • Passion to reach the lost
  • Ability to work with low and high income people 
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, church officer meetings, and other scheduled meetings as needed.
  • Assume all other responsibilities assigned by the lead pastor.
  • Strong work ethic, but properly understands and navigates tension between family and ministry
  • Self-starter; able to work effectively with minimal oversight if necessary
  • Proven ability to lead teams
  • Able to recognize and develop new leaders

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal integrity according to Scripture, a life of prayer, Bible study, meditation, and commitment to “walking in the light” (1 John 1:7) with others

  • At least 3 years of full-time ministry experience is preferred

  • Fulfills the qualifications of an elder as taught in the Scriptures

  • Gospel character: Humility, joy, faithfulness, a desire to grow and improve

  • Vision and Mission alignment with Grace Christian Fellowship Church

  • Theological alignment with Grace Christian Fellowship Church, which includes an affirmation of:

    o Inerrancy
    o Reformed soteriology
    o Believers baptism
    o The continuation of all spiritual gifts
    o Governance by a plurality of elders
    o The Complementarian position on men’s and women’s roles 

    o Christ centered expository preaching from all of scripture

  • Formal theological education is a plus, but not required
  • Ability and willingness to clear background checks
