Pastor of Student Ministries (#232311) - USA Midwest/Northeast (PA)

We are working with an Evangelical Free Church near Pittsburgh in order to find a Pastor of Student Ministries who will equip, lead, and manage the student ministries of the church.

The principle function of all pastoral staff is the ministry of equipping God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ will mature spiritually (Ephesians 4:11-13). The ministry of equipping is primarily a ministry of the Word, of prayer, and of modeling the Christian life (Acts 6:4; 1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17). The ministry of equipping is secondarily a ministry of leadership (Hebrews 13:7,17) and management/oversight (Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:7) of the church’s ministries and spiritual life. The pastoral staff is among the leadership and administratively gifted in the church who are called out and financially compensated in order to devote full-time energies to the leadership and management of the church’s ministries.

  • Leadership: Able to set a compelling vision based on our purposes as a church, applied to the specific ministry areas of responsibility.

  • Management: Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip and lead ministry systems and volunteers.

  • Knowledge: Demonstrated desire to be a life-long learner. Possesses significant knowledge of ministry needs and processes for equipping believers to complete the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40).

  • Followership: Team player who is able to take direction from and is committed to the ministry vision of the leadership of the church.

The Pastor of Student Ministries will report to the Executive Pastor, and will relate closely with the Senior Pastor, other staff, and volunteer leaders.
