Job Description:

Heritage Church is a non-denominational church in Texarkana, TX, whose mission is to be ambassadors of Christ to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus. We want to create an environment that unchurched people love to attend. We believe our role, as pastors and staff, is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and to reach the lost for Christ. Heritage is adding to our team to meet the needs of our expanding community group ministry. We are seeking applicants for the role of Director of Adult Ministries or Adult Ministries Pastor. We are seeking a person who has a heart for leading leaders, serving others, engaging people into a small groups ministry, developing small group leaders, and expanding and evolving the ministry as we grow. 


An overview of responsibilities follows:


  • Recruit, equip, and train small group leaders. Which will include, but is not limited to, training events, group leader meetings, and consistent communication with our small groups.
  • Communicate and share the vision for our groups ministry at Heritage Church.
  • Organize and lead the group connection event, GroupLink, twice a year.
  • Follow up with attendees who are interested in taking their next step at Heritage Church, with the ultimate goal of being plugged into a group.
  • Develop a coaching structure to provide leadership and guidance for group leaders, as well as apprentice leaders, in order to prepare the apprentice to lead a group in the future.
  • Work with the Lead Pastor to develop unique small group studies.
  • Provide pastoral care for families at Heritage Church, which could include, but not limited to hospital visits and short term counseling. 
  • Help with engaging volunteers with the purpose of enhancing our weekend guest experience. 
  • Work with other team members in planning and executing events throughout the year.



• Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, detail oriented and highly organized.
• Posses strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to varying personalities of small group leaders in our region, as well as work well with the other staff members on the team.

• Experience in leading leaders 
• Good oral and written communications skills; computer savvy

• Up to date on social media trends.

• Embrace and promote our ministry model.
• Bachelors Degree preferred, plus 3-5 years of experience in adult ministry
