Job Description:
Fellowship Baptist Church is praying for capable, spiritual leadership for the worship ministry. We are looking for a dynamic person who has the musical ability, leadership skills, and heart of a pastor that can be a part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess a great work ethic, have a clear calling of God for the ministry, and have the competence to lead effectively.
This position is not meant for someone looking for a simple ministry job. We want someone that desires to be part of a church where God is at work. Fellowship Baptist Church is passionately working to make disciples and God is changing lives in this place. We work hard and often long hours in order to make it happen. We are a team with no big shots. Much will be required as a staff member at Fellowship Baptist Church and we are looking for someone willing to pour their lives out for the sake of the Lord and His ministry here.

The Worship Pastor position at Fellowship Baptist Church requires that you function in many general pastoral roles with a main emphasis on the worship.
General pastoral responsibilities include but are not limited to: 
  • Hospital Visits
  • Counseling
  • Participation and leadership of church-wide special events
  • Teaching/preaching for Sunday services (when needed)
  • Provide oversight of our benevolence and and College ministry.
Worship Ministry Responsibilities:
The Worship Pastor will have the primary role of directing all music related ministries and providing spiritual leadership to its teams. At Fellowship, the Sunday morning worship service is the main event. We love to keep the atmosphere worshipful, uplifting, and spirit-filled. Our music style is a blended style of new worship songs and hymns. The worship pastor's responsibility includes detailed planning, coordination, and preparation. We use Planning Center Services to plan ahead for excellent, creative, and engaging worship services. The worship pastor must utilize great communication skills in order to effectively lead this ministry.
  • Work with Lead Pastor to craft worship service plans.
  • Use Planning Center Services to plan ahead and coordinate all services.
  • Lead the Choir
    • Lead weekly practices that currently begin at 4:45pm on Sundays
    • Develop a yearly choir practice calendar
    • Develop and implement choir policies and procedures
    • Provide spiritual leadership to the choir at each practice
    • Recruit new people and grow the choir
  • Special Singers
    • Develop calendar of when specials will be performed
    • Strategically plan and assemble special groups for new songs
  • Orchestra & Band
    • Hold weekly practices
    • Develop and grow the ministry
  • Worship Teams
    • Hold weekly practices
    • Develop and grow the ministry
  • Responsibly Handle Copyright Reporting
    • This includes choir songs, worship songs, specials, etc. Any song performed during service. (This includes: teens, college, auditorium, etc)
  • Manage the worship budget
College Ministry Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and lead the college ministry team and provide staff leadership for all college & career ministries for young adults 18-29
  • Planning and execution of a full discipleship program for students
  • Teach and lead the weekly service for college
  • Establish a yearly ministry calendar that includes outreach/evangelistic events, fun events, and spiritual growth events.
  • Development and training of a team of volunteer leaders.
  • Spend time with students and be involved in their lives providing spiritual direction and leadership inside and outside of church
  • Have a presence / influence in the local colleges and community
  • Organize and lead your ministry mission trips
  • An undergraduate degree in a ministry related area is required.
  • Formal music training and/or professional experience is required.
  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to serve Him
  • Has a marriage/family life that sets a great example of a Christian home
  • Has a spiritual gift mix including administration and exhortation.
  • Proven ability to successfully recruit volunteer leadership to partner with paid staff in the ministry
  • A demonstrated team player; understands the importance of communication throughout the organization as a valuable tool in creating unity
  • Excellent relational skills 
  • Willingness to receive coaching, outside training, and on-the-job training
  • Self-directed with strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
