Job Description:

We are presently seeking the next Pastor of Student Ministries at Gracepoint Gospel Fellowship.


We are a non-denominational, growing and innovative church in the NY metro region with a weekly attendance of around 1,200.  We are a diverse community with over 74 different nations represented.  The next Student Ministry Pastor will be the leader and point person for a ministry that is presently reaching over 200 young people. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and one who is able to recruit and train a volunteer youth staff made up of students and adults.

Candidate should be a high-energy, balanced charismatic who is passionate about seeing lives transformed and leaders raised up. Candidate must have integrity and a sincere heart for God. Must be a student of the Word, a servant leader and one who desires to work in a team environment.

Regular Duties:

  • Lead and organize an effective student ministry program for grades 6 - 12 that provides opportunities for students to encounter God in worship, grow in small groups and serve the church and the community with their gifts.
  • Recruit, train and invest in a large volunteer youth staff.
  • Provide counseling and spiritual direction to students.
  • Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ministry activities, using all appropriate and effective methods of communication (email, website, social media, etc.). Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
  • Support Gracepoint parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles, in concert with other pastoral staff.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of the student ministry budget; manage student fees for events and trips.
  • Seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally cross-generational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
  • Participate as needed or requested in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
  • Oversee the organization of small groups for college age students as needed.


Education & Experience: Ideally a Bachelors degree & 4 years experience in the pastorate.

Administrative skills and a personal spiritual life congruent with the biblical mandate for elders/leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-7)
A calling to youth ministry, a love of people and a passion for evangelism.
A gifting to teach with a strong biblical and theological background.

  • Attend church services, activities and prescribed meetings.
  • Stay current with youth ministry practices by reading, attending youth leadership conferences, etc., and include volunteer staff in these practices as appropriate.
  • Monthly mentoring by the Lead Pastor so he may provide encouragement, direction and support.
  • Present annual ministry updates and goals for the coming year to the Elder Leadership Team.
  • Participate in two job performance reviews each year.
  • Present a yearly youth budget proposal.
  • Occasional preaching and teaching in main church services as directed.

Salary: Based on experience, includes benefits and possible housing.

This position reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
