Primary Purpose

To serve Madison Assembly of God (MAG) by coordinating and implementing the Worship, Music and Fine Arts ministries of the church. To facilitate the maintenance and development of these ministries in keeping with MAG’s vision and established goals. To maximize the effectiveness of present ministries; giving leadership and supervision to staff members and volunteers involved in worship and fine arts.

  1. Must be a born again Christian
  2. Maintain a consistent devotional life of prayer and the study of God’s Word
  3. Maintain a strong marriage and family life, if applicable
  4. Maintain and expand in Spirit filled (evidence in speaking in tongues) anointed worship
  5. Constantly develop and enhance the Music, Worship and Fine Arts Ministries through up-to-date reading of materials, books, etc. and by attending conferences, seminars and workshops
  6. Keep informed of current trends with worship, music and fine arts in general
  7. Be able to work effectively within multi-generational setting, bringing all believers into unified praise and worship
  8. Follow the example and leadership of the Lead Pastor
  9. Understand the principle of loyalty to the Lead Pastor
  10. Display a godly character knowing and understanding ministerial ethics
  11. Must have credentials with the Assemblies of God or in the process of seeking it
  12. Be responsible for the planning, promotion, scheduling, recruitment, training and evaluation all the following worship and fine arts ministries of MAG
  13. Choreograph the entire worship services from beginning to end including pre-service announcements, videos, special songs, worship and sermon slides, etc
  14. Maintain and enhance departmental goals and objectives by managing use of facilities, planning and raising budgetary components including purchasing and repairing
  15. To delegate and evaluate tasks progress regularly
  16. Design and implement vocal, orchestral and drama components in weekly worship services
  17. Produce seasonal music including choral and drama events as requested by the Lead Pastor
  18. Supervise the work of volunteer leaders and staff providing leadership in appropriate areas
  19. Attend weekly pastoral staff and department meetings for clarification and development of vision, goals and strategies
  20. Recruit, train and motivate volunteers for all worship, music and fine arts ministries on an on-going basis
  21. Follow up with new contacts as well as current members of worship and fine arts ministries
  22. Assist the Lead Pastor in pastoral care duties including but not limited to weddings, funerals, counseling, discipleship, hospital visitation and providing spiritual counsel as needed
  23. Represent church at all times by being involved in community events
  24. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
  25. Minimum of 2 years experience in worship ministry
  26. Above average knowledge of current worship and music resources and an ability to effectively interpret the value of these materials for the various fine arts ministries
  27. Above average ability to develop strong relationships, especially with worship team, instrumental and drama/mime members
  28. Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
  29. Ability to read music and play by ear. Strong keyboard performance a plus
  30. Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  31. Theology:  Pentecostal/Charismatic with the ability to usher worshippers into the presence of God through music and worship
  32. Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
  33. Windows XP and Mac OS
  34. Familiar with Lighting Systems
  35. Familiar with Audio Equipment including troubleshooting and making adjustments
  36. Familiar with Slide Presentation Software such as MediaShout and ProPresenter
  37. Ability to organize and maintain a song database utilizing CCLI (preferably Song Select and ShoutSinger)
  38. Familiar with Planning Center Online for service scheduling purposes
  39. Should be in excellent health, mentally and physically, to function well at times of heightened stress due to the weight of ministry.
  40. May require long periods of standing, walking, bending or light lifting as needed during peak times such as special productions, etc
  41. Be willing to participate in:
  42. Church Work Days
  43. Setup and tear down of various rooms in preparation for events and weekly services. 
  44. Hours: 40 per week (average)
  45. At least 2 Weeks Paid Vacation (First week available after 6 months of employment).
