Job Description:

Solid Rock Ministry International of Garner, NC is prayerfully seeking a full time Senior Pastor for the church congregation.

 

Located in Garner, North Carolina, the Church began in 1992.  We have a Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International affiliation, and a membership of about 300. Over the past 25 years we have watched God do some incredible things in and through our church.  After the transition of our founding Senior Pastor, we are seeking to build a future under the leadership of a new Senior Pastor.

 

As a ministry of vision, purpose, and destiny we are led by the Holy Spirit as we co-labor as a living body yielded and committed to God. Our church vision is to reach the lost in sin, the lost in tradition and the unreached people of the world. Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to obey the four stages of the Great Commission to Win, Consolidate, Disciple and Send.

 

 

THE SENIOR PASTOR’S ROLE IN OUR MISSION

 

The senior pastor will set the direction of the church to achieve its mission. The senior pastor will ensure that members receive biblically-based instruction by preaching and teaching, supporting ministry efforts, and providing pastoral care to those in need. Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide spiritual care in accordance to the Holy Bible and growth to the membership. The senior pastor’s personal character and financial standing must be above reproach both inside and outside of the church. The senior pastor must be an ordained minister of the Gospel as well as be willing to work in conjunction with the Board of Directors, the Deacon Board and the Ministerial Alliance of the church.

 

THE SENIOR PASTOR’S PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare and preach biblically-based and God-inspired sermons that educate, motivate, inspire and unite the congregation in Christian growth and service.
  • Administer the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  • Provide counseling, conduct weddings, funerals, and bereavement counseling.
  • Plan for the education, growth, and development of the congregation.
  • Represent Solid Rock Ministry International in a manner that is in line with the Vision and Mission of the organization.
  • Prepare for and conduct worship services and lead the church in proclaiming the gospel to the church and community.
  • Work with and supervise deacons, church officers, and committees in performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Be available for and lead in training as needed.
  • Provide administrative leadership for the total church program.

THE SENIOR PASTOR’S MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform the duties of senior pastor. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list.

  • Must be a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel.
  • Have a minimum of five years of senior pastoral experience or, a three-year seminary degree and two years of pastoral experience.
  • Process a solid understanding of basic Christian Beliefs and Theology.  
  • Seminary training preferred: In lieu of seminary training, have held a senior pastor position for a minimum of five years.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Have a compassionate Shepherd’s Heart and the ability to communicate with and provide counseling for members of diverse backgrounds and various ages.
  • Professional ability to plan and prioritize tasks, demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, and be able to handle and keep personal member information confidential.
