Job Description:

 

Northside Christian Church is looking for a Student Pastor that will powerfully teach and transformationally lead the building and equipping of Northside Christian Churches’ student ministry (7th-12th grade) through the collaborative empowerment of volunteers, parents, and students. 

 

Reports to: Senior Pastor

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the teaching and strategic vision of student ministry that supports Northside's Mission and Core Values.
  • Develop an annual strategic plan that is measurable, attainable with God’s help, and helps live out our Core value of Building Better Families. 
  • Spearhead a comprehensive evangelism/outreach strategy that allows students to own their faith, live out the Great Commission, and increase community awareness of Northside.
  • Support and assist parents in the process of discipling their student.
  • Grow student leaders that lead today…not some time in the future.
  • Incorporate collaborative efforts into the student ministry. (Teaching, leading, sermon prep, service planning, etc)
  • Develop strong small groups that foster community, authenticity, and spiritual growth.
  • Work to identify ways of helping students and parents transition from Children's Ministry to Students and from Student Ministry to adults. 
  • Build, empower, and mobilize a thriving volunteer culture.

 

Additional responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and foster an outward focused ministry.
  • Help foster a culture of celebrating wins, appreciating volunteers, and where family is a priority.
  • Engage with local Middle School and High Schools to reach more students for the kingdom of God.
  • Attend weekly meetings and contribute for general planning/vision of Northside.
  • Support the Senior Pastor in preaching to adults as requested by Senior Pastor.
  • Rotate with other ministers to carry out regular ministerial duties (hosting service, announcements, lock up, Pastor On Call, hospital visits etc).
  • Delegate to and successfully work alongside administrative assistants.
  • Tinker with current processes, procedures to discover opportunities that foster a culture of trying new things.
  • Other ministerial duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

 

Qualifications and Aptitudes:

  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Creative and Collaborative.
  • Hungry (constantly learning and looking for ways to grow).
  • Humble (teachable, approachable and willing to own up to mistakes).
  • Action oriented with a drive for results.
  • A college degree from an accredited college/university. 
  • Must have a Love for God and a Love for Middle School and High School students. 
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Serves as a team player who encourages and supports the rest of the team.
  • Qualities of authenticity, vulnerability, and transparency which are evidenced in personal life, family relationships, and ministry.
  • Able to deal with conflict directly, openly, honestly and graciously.
  • Possess organizational and time management skills.
