Job Description:

Our congregation in Athens, GA is seeking an enthusiastic, caring and compassionate part-time Director of Children's Ministries to lead our growing ministry to children.  The successful applicant will possess a desire to share the Word of God with our children. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow and serve our community as we minister and disciple in God's Kingdom.  This ministry position includes but not limited to:  develop, coordinate and implement programming for children programs on Sunday mornings (age’s nursery- 5th grade), work with Children's Council and the Pastor in charge on development and planning of the Children's program.  Develop and implement the vision of Children and Family Ministry based on the needs of the church and in conjunction with the vision of the church, Develop and lead the Children's Message during Worship, in coordination with the senior minister's sermon series topics/themes, create the work schedule for nursery workers and laity volunteers,  Recruit and coordinate laity volunteers for Children and Family special events including, but not limited to, Trunk or Treat/Fall Festival, Advent Workshop, Spring Family Event, Vacation Bible School, Assist/train volunteers in Safe Sanctuary Training, Christian Education or Children's Ministry preferred.  Previous experience working with children and families preferred.  Working knowledge of scripture, Knowledge of United Methodist Theology.  We seek to hire a person with passion to teach all children to know God and God's love.  Salary shall be commensurate with experience.
