Job Description:

The First Congregational Church of Ramona is an exceptional church with a hundred year history in the community and averaging over two hundred people in attendance every Sunday.  In a day and age when many mainline churches are experiencing significant decline, FCC has welcomed more than one hundred new members in just the last seven years, launched a flourishing Small Group Ministry with a dozen active groups, added a Sunday evening alternative worship experience, and so much more.  We are the largest United Church of Christ congregation in our association of the Southern California Nevada Conference and we are actively seeking an Associate Pastor of Youth and Outreach who will come alongside our Senior Pastor as we continue to bless Ramona and beyond.  If you are passionate about growing a vital ministry to youth and young adults, and if you have skills and wisdom in the area of outreach, church growth, and church development, this could be the church for you.  Located in the rural community of Ramona, 42 miles northeast of San Diego, FCC is known as a deeply compassionate, missional, and open-minded congregation devoted to living a life of love (Ephesians 5:2).  The Associate Pastor of Youth and Outreach will be devoted to (1) leading and expanding our youth and young adult ministries, and (2) church development, growth, and outreach.  A no-notes preacher is preferred, or at least an individual who can preach away from notes.  The Associate Pastor will be second in command to our Senior Pastor, sharing the Word of God approximately once a month, assisting with our three worship services weekly and with funeral and wedding coverage as needed.

Combined salary and benefit package, inclusive of housing allowance, vacation, continuing education, health insurance, and earned sabbatical– will be in the middle five figure range, dependent upon candidate’s qualifications, past experience, and how closely they fit the requirements of the job description and the needs of the congregation.

Candidates, who are asked to come to Ramona for the purpose of a personal interview, will be reimbursed for reasonable travel costs.

Interested candidates should send a profile/resume to  and cc  Questions may be directed in this manner as well.
