Job Description:

This role will include serving as an administrative assistant for the Church Administrator and at least one other senior staff member, and providing supervision to the rest of the administrative assistant team. Admins provide clerical, organizational, planning, technical, research, and information management support to the staff and ministries of CHBC. We are passionate about the gospel, dedicated to teamwork, and enjoy our work.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate via resume, cover letter, interview, and references, the following characteristics:

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ; understanding of the centrality of the gospel; willingness to become a member of CHBC or a regular attender
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office and Apple OS software (iWork programs), email
  • Ability to master web-based systems used at CHBC, including Planning Center Online, Google docs, Basecamp3, and web authorizing software (training provided)
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, organization, time-management abilities; excellent English grammar and written expression
  • Creativity, learner, self-developer
  • High tolerance for interruptions and unscheduled interactions
  • Friendly, outgoing, helpful attitude that represents CHBC and our staff well
  • Professional, mature, and flexible; appropriate sense of urgency about tasks, projects, and outcomes; pace-setter with colleagues

  • Ability to manage deadlines for multiple projects and pastors/ministers/ministries

  • Ability to supervise other administrative staff, including assigning projects and areas of responsibility, delegating tasks, coaching and training in skills, knowledge, and attitude, evaluating performance and outcomes
  • Familiar with the unique needs and challenges of churches and/or other religious nonprofits
