Job Description:

The mission of Baptist Church on Homedale (BCH) is Building Believers and Sharing Christ and our vision is to be the best church for our community. Worship is any action that ascribes God worth. One of the primary ways this is accomplished at BCH is through our most important instrument: the voices, hearts, and minds of our congregation.

 

The worship leader is responsible for the creation and execution of a powerfully engaging, Christ-centered, scripture-rich, guest-accessible, distraction-free, highly experiential service elements on our main stage that direct people into life-changing encounters with God and his people. They will excel at coordinating worship services which will advance the mission and vision of BCH by developing and leading the music team in the creation and delivery of the final stage product. They are to lead with authority and act as a catalyst to facilitate life transformation.

 

Job Responsibilities

Develop

  1. Conceptualize, plan, execute, and refine powerfully engaging, Christ-centered, scripture-rich, guest-accessible, distraction-free, highly experiential worship services through a Spirit-led and prayerful process of brainstorming, innovating, planning, rehearsing, experimenting, and evaluating
  2. Invest time networking, reading, and reflecting on ways to shape multisensory, multigenerational worship experiences that maximize participation and utilize music to best engage today’s unchurched, postmodern generation
  3. Collaborate and contribute as a ministry partner at weekly staff meetings to advance the mission and vision of BCH

Disciple

  1. Model lifestyle worship by maintaining a close, personal relationship with Jesus Christ; positively representing BCH in public and private life choices; and promoting and participating in the BCH small group system
  2. Demonstrate a commitment to life-long learning
  3. Focus on leadership development by recruiting and developing music team members including worship leaders, vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio/video specialists
  4. Demonstrate faithfulness and availability to team members through regular communication
  5. Build authentic relationships with team members and church leaders

 Debrief

  1. Demonstrate teachability to team members by seeking feedback
  2. Encourage others in a commitment to excellence by communicating feedback to team members and coaching them in developing their skills

Job Requirements

Prior experience in leading experiential worship

Excellent presentation skills

Excellent technical skills

Strong team building and team development skills

Experience recruiting and developing volunteers

Proven ability to make complex decisions

Strong creativity and innovation

Proven problem solver also skilled at conflict resolution

Highly approachable with good people skills

Prior experience leading and producing creative on-stage programming elements

Spiritual gifts of leadership, teaching, shepherding, creative communication, discernment, and exhortation

 

Compensation

$24,000/annually. 2 weeks paid vacation. Designated discipleship, music, and media budgets. Travel expenses. Matching retirement options. Scholarships for seminary/educational programs. Renegotiated salary annually based on church growth. Opportunities for other paid church positions or community position.
