Job Description:

Since the fall of 2016, Immanuel’s Church, a church strong in faith, prayer and purpose, came to a very critical crossroad. The church has spent the last six months unearthing and addressing long-term systemic leadership failure, and has undergone a very sobering, transitional season dealing with significant change.

Following this challenging period, Immanuel’s is now heading into an extensive rebuild, and is actively seeking to create a collaborative transitional leadership team to serve the church. The intentional Interim Pastor will take the lead in this effort. Immanuel’s Church is seeking a church interventionist leader that can both shepherd and lead this new direction of spiritual health and strength.

Immanuel’s Church are eager to see how God writes the next chapter in the life of the church.  We are eager to grow, both spiritually and numerically, in order to have more men and women of God making a greater impact for Christ in the community and around the world. We are looking for an intentional Interim Pastor with both the critical abilities to DO certain things as well as possess the personal qualities of BEING in order to do them well.

The Pastor must have solid and extensive Biblical knowledge, but also a broken and transformed heart. He must be a passionate lover of Jesus and pursuer of personal holiness, living a life of heartfelt dependence on the Lord. The primary focus of this leader will be to actively communicate, motivate and support the implementation of our transitional plans under the direction of Immanuel’s Church Board of Trustees.

The intentional Interim Pastor will serve as an independent contractor, rather than an employee of Immanuel’s Church and would be ineligible to subsequently be employed as the Senior Pastor of the church within at least five years. Characteristic expectations and critical abilities of this leader include:

  • Being a spiritually and emotionally mature person known for consistent walk in the Spirit.
  • Being above reproach in ministry and in all personal and corporate relationships.
  • Being a wise and seasoned leader with a track record of serving churches in crisis, and able to restore the Church’s confidence in leadership.
  • Being able to preach and teach God’s word clearly and with authority with the goal of leading us to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, and souls with an emphasis on both sound Biblical preaching and the practical application of Biblical truths to personal lives.
  • Being able to relate to, connect with, work and effectively minister to a multi-cultural community of believers.
  • Experienced in and committed to ministering to the needs of; and engaging young adults and other millennials in ministry.
  • Knowledgeable and committed to the Great Commission with the ability to translate this commitment to local and international outreach passionately.
  • Committed to excellence in leadership, a leader who values and pursues excellence as he leads, builds relationships, makes decisions, and casts vision.
  • A leader who embraces and affirms Immanuel’s Church core values and beliefs.
