The Mission

The Director of Program and Staff Development is a key position at the heart of discipleship development at a vibrant 3200-member church. This person will oversee growth in faith formation for all ages, as well as oversee alignment of staff to foster that growth.

 

The Vision

The Director will work closely with the Senior Pastor, Senior Staff, and the Leadership Board in helping Manchester UMC live out its mission of “Being an inclusive church dedicated to making a difference for Christ through the transformation of church and community.” This individual will help shape a vision that impacts future generations of disciples.

 

Making a Difference Through Discipleship Formation

The Director must have a passion to provide programs of excellence that give participants the tools to discover and claim for themselves what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ. He/she will have an opportunity to develop and lead faith formation programs for adults. At the same time, the Director will have an opportunity to shape faith formation for children through young adult age by supervising a highly skilled and dedicated program staff. An integral part of this spiritual development will be a connection to mission.

 

Making a Difference Through Staff Development

The Director must have a passion for overseeing the work, development, and fruitfulness of our program staff. He/she will also have an opportunity to work with committed and visionary laity.

 

Qualifications

The Director must have theological training (seminary degree preferred), a minimum of 2 years supervising staff, and a passion for inviting people to grow in their Christian discipleship.

 

Compensation

Manchester UMC offers competitive salaries and benefits. Specific salaries are based on experience and level of expertise.
