Job Description

 

The Student Ministries Pastor of Shelter Cove provides exceptional spiritual, visionary, value-driven leadership for the students, families, and volunteers in the High School ministry.

Character

  • Maintains a close and authentic walk with Jesus by regularly spending time alone with Him, His Word, and prayer.
  • A consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Maintains a Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside SC.
  • Committed to living out the core values of SC staff.
  • Fulfills the Biblical mandates of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Faithfully tithes at Shelter Cove.

 

Qualifications

  • Ministry experience with high school students.
  • An understanding of today‚Äôs culture, with the ability to function and communicate the Gospel within it.
  • Strong character with good judgment, exceptional interpersonal relational skills; team player.
  • Spiritual gift-mix of leadership, teaching, and pastoring.
  • Proven desire and ability to recruit, equip, and empower adult volunteers to work with students.
  • Possesses an obvious and contagious love for people, specifically SC students and parents.
  • Agrees with, embraces, and teaches the SC Statement of Faith.
  • Leads and loves in a way that is energetic, magnetic, and life-changing to students and parents.
  • Has a desire to grow and assist the church in living out its mission statement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and teach a vibrant High School Ministry.
  • Takes initiative to reach the lost and make disciples.
  • Works with Worship Department to create a passionate and electric worship experience.
  • Build, develop, and unleash a mature student leadership team and an adult ministry team.
  • Stay up to date on youth culture.
  • Strategic and creative planning to maximize ministry impact.
  • Develop and implement HS Ministry growth plan.
  • Oversee Jr. High Director & Student Ministries Administrative Assistant.
  • Potential to oversee all Children/Student Ministries based on experience. 
  • Participate in other ministries, such as worship services, special events, etc., as assigned.
  • Attend staff meetings, functions and retreats; including SC events, as directed by Executive Team Member.
