Job Description:

Must be a Christ-centered leader who has demonstrated the ability to develop, organize, and implement high quality youth and family programs focused on youth development including the social and spiritual growth. Clarkston UMC is seeking a Youth Director who has a passion to direct and coordinate youth programming details within and outside worship services, including providing youth with opportunities for fellowship, spiritual education, evangelism, worship, and mission.  For more information or to apply, visit


Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate youth programming details within and outside worship services. This includes providing youth with opportunities for fellowship, evangelism, worship, and mission
  • Recruit, train equip, manage, and encourage volunteers; facilitating opportunities for them to grow within small groups/community. Delegate appropriate responsibilities to volunteers
  • Provide strategic planning and vision for youth programming
  • Plan/assist in planning special events and develops new worship opportunities

Main Qualifications

  • Appropriate educational background and 5+ years’ experience in youth leadership
  • Demonstrates a passion for facilitating the spiritual growth of youth
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee program areas, inspire involvement, and skillfully manage the details necessary for a successful youth ministry
  • Ability to communicate ideas and vision for the educational and spiritual needs of youth, realizing that youth are in different places in their spiritual development, and as a result, have varied educational and spiritual needs
  • Model a strong, vital open Christian faith
