PURPOSE

This position is responsible for launching and nurturing small groups through leadership identification, development, and oversight. 

 

POSITION STATUS

Full-time; Exempt

 

SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP

Reports to Pastor of Discipleship and Groups

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the development and oversight of a system and structure to effectively manage Scottsdale Bible Church's (SBC’s) varied small groups.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a simple and effective assimilation process.
  • Assist in developing and supporting a promotional strategy for the various small groups.
  • Assist in developing a new system to coach small group leaders.
  • Matrix across venues and campuses to ensure small group effectiveness and consistency.
  • Assist in developing systems and processes for identifying potential leaders.
  • Assist in developing and provide regular training for small group leaders.
  • Assist in creating oversight structure for nurturing small group leaders.
  • Coach new and existing small groups leaders.

Assist in the recruitment and development of small group leaders.

  • Assist in developing systems and processes for identifying potential leaders.

  • Assist in creating oversight structure for nurturing small group leaders.
  • Coach new and existing small groups leaders. 

Provide pastoral leadership for SBC as a whole.

  • Provide biblical counseling to members at large
  • Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and communion as needed.
  • Preach and teach at various settings when needed.


PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Agree with Scottsdale Bible Church’s Statement of Faith
  • Dynamic and growing faith in Christ.
  • Proven ability to lead groups of volunteers in significant ministry activities.
  • Proven leadership in periods of organizational transition; ability to move culture in a new direction.
  • Basic knowledge of the Bible and theology.
  • Ability to communicate and teach in small venues (1-100 persons).
  • Multi-tasking abilities and strong organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate with individuals clearly and confidently, verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and in team environments.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Must have a level of education and experience commensurate with the position: Bachelors degree or higher preferred, and more than 3 years of related experience.
