Media Director

Full Time

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 1.             Administration
  2. A.             Recruit: Recruit, lead and develop Media Team volunteers/staff.
  3. B.             Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of media teams for all the weekend services and other events.
  4. C.             Staff Meetings: Attend Staff meetings for global, visionary, and organizational matters.
  5. D.             Leadership: Supervise Media Team – perform evaluations, meet individually and collectively with team members, set department priorities in collaboration with the Production Director/Executive Pastor of Creative Communication. Serve on the Northwoods Leadership Team.
  6. 2.             Creative Arts Team
  7. A.            Creativity: Work collaboratively with the Creative Arts Team to develop excellence and creativity in this ministry. Ensure media content is consistently fresh and visually interesting.
  8. B.            Current trends: Research ideas, and creative means of communicating our message with an emphasis on current and upcoming technology and delivery methods.
  9. 3.             Production
  10. A.             Media Production: Produce media, i.e. video, for the weekend and other ministries. Produce other media projects as necessary for the overall Northwoods community. Create presentations for message/worship support for weekends and other events.
  11. B.             Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve media related technical issues. Purchase and configure software/hardware to fulfill production needs.
  12. C.            Services: Provide production support for all services and special events in the auditorium and other venues as needed. Production support includes graphics presentations, video playback, online streaming, video switching, and camera directing.


Interaction with Others

The Media Director will work closely with the Production Director as well as the other members of the Creative Arts staff. He/she will also work closely with volunteers in the Creative Arts area.


Desired Skills/Abilities

This person must be a creative person with leadership abilities. Organizational skills are a must for effective coordination of media projects, meetings, and volunteers. He/she will have an advanced understanding of audio/video software and equipment. Must be a team player willing to work with others and contribute to a collaborative environment. The Media Director should have experience shooting and producing field segments and have a working knowledge of live video directing and production.

Educational and Experience Required

Bachelors in Communication or equivalent experience, experience in graphic design, creating 3D animation, and non-linear video editing. Software: Pro Presenter, Adobe Creative Cloud. Must be comfortable working with Mac OS.
