Job Description:

Genesis Church is a non-denominational, multisite church in Hamilton County, located in the northern suburbs of Indianapolis. It is passionate about disciple making, and helping people find their way back to God.

About the Organization:

What began as one church in one location in 2003, has expanded to two campuses featuring live teaching of the same message topic/series, the same GenKids curriculum, and even the same free bagels and coffee in the café. The desire of the church was to remove distance as a barrier as people invited friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. This multisite vision has proven a valuable move as the church has seen many of those people come to Christ and begin to follow Him.

Genesis is a discipleship-oriented church that epitomizes a clearly defined organizational vision, an on-mission staff and a healthy culture firmly rooted in biblical integrity. Marked by simplicity, practicality and openness, the church uses intentional approaches to connectivity, worship, teaching, relationships, and environments through which it ministers. Genesis Church is positioned to grow beyond its current attendance of 900, impacting the surrounding region and beyond.

About the Position:

The Pastor of Worship and Programming will be responsible for worship programming, communication, and arts at Genesis Church. This position will grow volunteers, disciple worship leaders, and offer spiritual depth to worship team members, and create a deeper worship culture across the church.

By and large, success in this role will be determined by the candidate’s ability to lead and disciple the worship leaders of Genesis Church while growing a team of volunteers for the ministry.

What We Are Searching For:

A highly creative thinker who possesses a strong leadership and pastoral gifting, alongside the ability to create well-produced worship environments will be essential for this role. This individual’s broad range of skills, dynamic stage presence and authentic off stage approachability will essentially support three areas pertaining to the role: audience participation, musical development, and administration of ministry logistics.

Although education is not a predetermining factor for the selection of a Pastor of Worship & Programming, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.

  • 8+ years experience in worship leading.
  • Proven performance in leading and developing other staff.
  • A history of active engagement in the direction, leadership, and execution of a successful Worship Service Ministry.
  • Have experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter, and other vital tools of the trade (including in-ear monitors).
  • Work as part of a team to program weekend services.
  • A proven history of effective disciple making among your team.
  • Lead worship from guitar and/or keyboard (guitar preferred).
