Job Description:

Trinity Church is a vibrant faith community located in Greenwich, CT, with a heart to proclaim Jesus in a faithful, compelling, and relevant way that welcomes and draws in people of all ages. The Operations Director is a new position and will be a vital and integral member of Trinity’s staff, reporting directly to the Executive Pastor. General Responsibilities:


The Operations Director is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the administrative ministries of the church including facilities, human resources, finance, and technology. This position will create, implement, and sustain systems and structures that support and further Trinity’s vision from an organizational perspective by providing assistance and consistent oversight to enable staff members to successfully accomplish their respective goals and responsibilities.


Specific Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the use, maintenance, and functionality of Trinity’s permanent facilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison for all rented Sunday worship facilities, including negotiation of contracts, terms of use, and policy compliance

  • Oversee relationships with mid-week rented facilities and retreat locations as needed

  Human Resources:

  • Function as HR Director

  • Participate in annual review of compensation for non-exec staff with Executive Pastor and CFO

  • Responsible for benefits, payroll, etc.

  • Responsible for staff policies, employee handbook, etc.

  • Oversee compliance with hiring and staff exit processes

  • Available as HR resource to campus lead pastors and other supervisors


  • Oversee finance office staff, ensuring monthly and annual financial reports to all appropriate users

  • Own the development and implementation of the annual budgeting process

  • Work in collaboration with the Treasurer and Finance Committee chair


  • Supervise IT support contractor

  • Responsible for IT policies, and hardware and software purchases and leases

  • Responsible for IT functionality and scalability over multiple campuses


  • Serve on the churchwide leadership group

  • Promote, protect and bring alignment around Trinity’s mission, vision, values, and strategy

  • Contribute to all-staff meetings as needed

  • Consistent & available presence at Trinity office facilities



  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred or similar relevant job experience)

  • A strong history of leadership, complemented by a record of accomplishments of setting and sustaining a church, not-for-profit, or corporate culture

  • Substantial executive-level experience in comparable organization(s), ministry or professional

  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional people skills with ability to develop trust and rapport with staff, congregants, and community members

  • Advanced analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and uphold confidentiality



Should be a high-capacity leader with clearly recognized gifts in the following areas:

  • Leads a life of vibrant discipleship and exhibits an enthusiastic relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Develops a team that is fully qualified to serve God by serving one another (Ephesians 4:11-13)

  • Possesses a doctrinal position that is complementary to Trinity Church

  • Prioritizes equipping others for ministry, over doing ministry personally, by mentoring and supporting leaders and others (does not see this opportunity as a “stepping stone” to an eventual pastoral role)

  • Willingness to be an active member of the Trinity Church community
