POSITION TITLE: Youth Pastor (6th-12th)**

LOCATION: Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex, TX

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Experience

DENOMINATION: NonDenominational

WEEKLY ATTENDANCE: 1350+

MinisterSearch (https://MinisterSearch.com/) is delighted to partner with a growing church in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex located in a rapidly growing suburban expanse. They are a community of believers who have a passionate desire to provide a safe and welcoming place where you can personally experience real life in Jesus Christ. Their mission is to create an atmosphere that is safe, casual, and loving with the goal of preparing a place for all who enter to experience Jesus in a personal way.

While this church isn’t Pentecostal, they do believe in the full use of the gifts of the Spirit, as well as the baptism of the Holy Spirit--they consider themselves “Bapti-Costal” and believe it’s normal Christianity for God to do outrageous things!

The person who will be right for this position will be an energetic, self-starter, who has a vision and knows how to share that vision with the leaders to get them excited to carry it out! This person will have a real love for middle and high schoolers and a burning desire to do whatever it takes to ensure that they know the love of Christ. A track record of success in working with leaders and volunteers and growing a student ministry is necessary

Named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People, this city is appealing to many because of its easy proximity to the Metroplex; a family-oriented environment; an outstanding school system; plentiful affordable land; more than 28 square miles of rolling hills, lakes and parks; and, it’s one of the fastest growing and desirable communities in the Metroplex.

The staff and attenders are friendly, social, and eager to welcome the successful candidate and their family into the church and community.

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

  • Lead the youth ministry for Jr. High and Sr. High students (6th - 12th grade) by identifying the needs and interests of teens within the church and surrounding communities
  • Implement, manage, and oversee an organized, smooth-running, engaging, and exciting program
  • Develop an atmosphere that encourages students to participate in activities, develop close and lasting friendships among their church peers, and feel comfortable enough to drop by the youth office just to “check in”
  • Be available to connect with the students during the week; invest in students’ lives by attending extracurricular activities, scheduling activities for them to participate in, and interact with the regional youth culture
  • Develop, mentor, and shepherd strong adult and youth leadership teams to enhance the ministry, give youth a place to ‘belong,’ and stay plugged in to changing youth needs
  • Be recognized on campus so that youth, as well as parents, trust that you are invested in their children and them

  • Oversee and administer the youth ministry budget
  • Attend weekly pastoral staff meetings as well as any other meetings that pertain to your area of responsibility

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in youth ministry growing a successful program and working in both large and small group situations
  • Visionary leader who sees the “big picture” and manages from that perspective that includes meeting the changing needs of young people
  • Possess a Christ-like love for youth, encouraging them in their day-to-day lives
  • An obvious passion for seeing youth engage in a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ—a discipler, not just an event planner

  • Experienced with baptism of the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues is not a requirement) and comfortable with charismatic, spirit-filled settings
  • Passion for outreach and missions; an entrepreneurial personality and spirit – thinking outside the box

  • Excellent communication skills—spoken and written
  • Proven ability to develop, lead, and shepherd effective adult volunteer and youth leadership teams

  • Both lead and thrive in a team-based environment
  • Personable, with the ability to win people over
