OVERVIEW

Together with another co-director of Middle School you will lead the 6-8th grade ministry at Woodridge Church. It will be your responsibility to continue and expand our commitment to Middle School students at our church and in the surrounding community. You will be tasked with recruiting, developing and encouraging a team of adult volunteers. You will be tasked with serving, listening to, caring for and empowering parents. You will be tasked with loving, serving, developing and pointing middle school students to Jesus. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Follow the vision and strategic plan for Aspen Grove.

  • Follow the vision and strategic plan for Woodridge Church.

  • Follow the vision and the strategic plan for Woodridge Family Ministry.

  • Develop the unique Middle School vision and strategic plan that fits within the mission, vision, and values of Aspen Grove/Woodridge/Family Ministry and implement it.

  • Pastoral care for Woodridge Middle School community (meet, council, pray with, encourage, and equip).

  • Recruit and disciple students as leaders and as followers of Jesus.

  • Pray for Aspen Grove services, staff, volunteers, and attenders.

  • Enable an empowerment culture that fosters team and a multitude of leaders.

  • Ensure that Woodridge Middle School attenders team together and with the broader church.

  • Serve the Family Ministry Pastor faithfully in their broader goals and vision for Woodridge.

  • Give vision to, plan, and implement Saturday Night / Sunday Morning Middle School services.  

  • Caring for and resourcing parents of Woodridge Middle School students.

  • Give vision to, Plan and implement Wednesday Middle School services at Woodridge.

  • Give vision to, plan and implement retreats.

  • Interconnect and team with all Aspen Grove Sites (particularly Family Ministry teams and Woodridge Ministry teams).

  • Team with Woodridge High School, Elementary and Early Childhood staff in the process of attender recruitment, retention, and assimilation.

  • Ensure Woodridge Middle School attenders are multiplied as disciples/participants and leaders.

  • Ensure discipleship and leadership development is happening with Woodridge Middle School.

  • Recruit, empower, and enable Middle School students to serve as volunteer leaders in (local) ministries.

  • Equip and empower volunteers/students to start, participate in, and multiply missional communities via missional community and the model of the “square.”

  • Empower Middle School students to bring the Kingdom of God in their homes, schools, friendships, colleges, etc.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Actively maintain an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Clearly demonstrates humility and a desire to learn and be taught.

  • Skills and experience in organizational leadership.

  • Experience in, understanding of, and passion for effective, Christ-centered discipleship.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in teaching and public speaking.

  • Values and displays knowledge of and passion for Scripture.

  • Is committed to the ongoing presence and activity of the Holy Spirit in the world.

  • Is committed to a significant role for women in ministry.

  • Highly values and is committed to making disciples as a primary expression of following Jesus.

  • Values a entrepreneurial work environment.

  • Is a team player willing to cooperate and dedicated to healthy communication with team members.

  • Has demonstrated a work ethic marked by productivity, independence and reliability.

  • Agreement with the statement of faith and standards of Aspen Grove Church Network.

  • Embrace the mission, vision and values of Aspen Grove Church Network.

 

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Wednesdays evening service

  • Saturday evening service

  • Two Sunday morning services

  • Mondays for staff meetings

  • 2-4 Weekend Retreats per year

  • Must be able to meet when volunteers are available or when care is needed.

  • Other independent and collaborative work time is required but flexible.

  • Teams with other Middle School Staff in our Church Network
