Highpoint Church is a multi-site church outside of Chicago with campuses in Naperville, North Aurora and Bolingbrook, IL. Founded in 2000 by Pastor Ron and Jody Zappia, it was the first church plant of the Harvest Bible Fellowship. Highpoint exists to help people Believe in Jesus, Belong to Jesus and Become like Jesus. 

Job Description:

The primary purpose of the Student Pastor (primarily focused on High School Ministry) is to provide leadership and vision to the discipleship process, student ministry programming and pastoral care for High School students and families while aligning with the overall vision of the church. This position requires  building an effective multi-site student ministry for Highpoint Church alongside over Family Ministry staff. Other pastoral responsibilities outside of student ministry will be required as needs arise. 



  • Recruit, train, and equip a team of adult volunteers to do the work of the ministry: discipling and shepherding students while maintaining adequate adult to student ratios 
  • Recruit, train, and equip student leadership team to serve within the ministry.
  • Develop teaching and preaching skills to effectively communicate God’s Word in a relevant and compelling way to students
  • Create a culture of care within HSM, making Christian and non-Christian students feel known, cared for, and loved.
  • Actively engage with students and parents outside of the Highpoint Church building to create the opportunity of a deeper level of personal relationship and understanding. 
  • Be available to students and leadership on their turf, by connecting at schools, extra-curricular activities and times of need). 
  • Provide parenting partnerships between the ministry and homes so that discipleship can take place outside of church.
  • Follow up and assimilate new students into HSM in a timely manner



  • Plan, develop and implement all aspects of the High School Ministry (HSM) to ensure a healthy balance of depth and width through large group programming, worship, discipleship, small groups, missions and outreach.
  • Plan, execute and evaluate weekly ministry  and summer programming 
  • Plan, execute and evaluate 2 major student camps per year
  • Strategize and implement programs to reach more students
  • Engage in youth culture
  • Develop scalable ministry structures that will support growth in a multi-site model
