Job Description:

Summary : The role of the Engagement Director develops systems and teams that encourage people to move from their first visit to becoming, and remaining, fully-developing members (i.e., the WISDOM lifestyle). This includes continual review and implementation of the best communication tools for connecting the Core, Committed, Congregation, Crowd and Community with NBLC’s involvement opportunities. And this involves collaboration with existing teams and groups, as well as initiating new groups.  This position will drive assimilation and communication at NBLC to new levels in order to pursue our mission to know Christ and make Christ known.


New Beginnings is located just 30 miles southwest of St. Louis, MO.


Key Results Areas

  • Establish and continually improve weekend service systems and teams that create environments to welcome people with warmth and helpfulness from ingress to egress.
  • Initiate and support the creation and multiplication of an increasing number of regularly sponsored Connect Groups/Teams (with all three Cs).
  • Execute robust communication plan to inform Community, Crowd, Congregation Committed and Core of NBLC  through various means, especially on various social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
  • Educate and activate whole congregation on use of NBLC’s engagement platforms (e.g., CCB/myNBLC, Subsplash App, website, etc.) from Core to Crowd.
  • Provide meaningful community building experiences among NBLC staff, congregational leadership, and volunteers.
  • Other duties as mutually agreed upon from time to time.

  • A passion and deep commitment to the Holy Scriptures as the inspired Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions as a correct interpretation of the holy Scriptures.  
  • A member in good standing of NBLC who demonstrates a growing commitment to the congregation’s Vision Framework. 
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to effectively initiate & complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership and team building ability demonstrated by effective organization of tasks to accomplish goals.  Also, recruitment, management, and development of volunteer staff.
  • Excellent communication skill as demonstrated by honesty, quick and appropriate feedback, encouragement, positive conflict resolution techniques, etc.
  • Ability to master basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office Suite,communication software packages, social media, etc.
  • A bachelor’s degree required.  Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Management, Leadership development preferred.
