Title:                        Director of Passion Kids Ministry(Plus Admin Asst)

Status:                      Full-Time

Reports to:              Lead Pastor

Job Summary and Purpose

The Director of Passion Kids will provide primary oversight to the vision, leadership and execution of Passion Church Kids Ministry. Passion Kids will be responsible for all children ages birth through elementary. The Director of Passion Kids (D/PK) will strive to accomplish the mission of Passion Church in the lives of all volunteers and children connected to the ministry of Passion Kids. Passion Kids will provide 1) direct ministry to and, 2) partnership with parents of all children ages birth through elementary to see every heart be transformed from those farthest from Christ into passionate followers of Him. The D/PK will seek to create teams, environments and curriculum that equip, empower and encourage every child to be a light for Christ  which impacts the world.

 

The D/PK will be focused on reaching and reviving children’s hearts through creating environments of discipleship not only during weekend services and events, but also throughout the week in the homes of those children. The D/PK will be passionate about developing, empowering & supporting teams of amazing volunteers who will be the front lines of accomplishing the vision of the D/PK in the hearts of children and families.

 

The D/PK will also in this season accomplish the task of the administrative assistant for the Lead Pastor and the staff team(15 hours/week). This “double-duty” will continue until average birth-through elementary attendance on weekends is 100 kids. We are seeking a person who will, Lord-willing, be a vibrant team member of Passion Church for decades to come.

 

Specific Responsibilities  & Duties

 

  • Continue to develop, in partnership with and support of the Lead Pastor & Executive Pastor, the vision of Passion Kids.
  • Develop, in partnership with and support of the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor, the curriculum and environments necessary to accomplish the vision of Passion Kids Ministry.
  • Recruit, develop, empower and support the volunteer teams necessary to accomplish the vision of Passion Kids.
  • Develop, oversee, evaluate & improve the programs, protocols and processes needed to accomplish the vision of Passion Kids.
  • See the volunteers of Passion Kids as a primary ministry field, taking personal the spiritual, emotional & physical well-­-being of all ministry team members.
  • Meet, pray and plan on a weekly basis with 1) the Passion team and 2) the Lead Pastor, for encouragement, support, problem solving and ideation.
  • As able, partner with the LP and Director of Creative Arts to develop creative ministries for Passion Kids, including but not limited to worship & drama teams. While this is firmly within the long-­-term vision of Passion Church, the D/PK will only seek to accomplish this as he or she has confirmed space in the schedule to work towards this goal.
  • Function as the administrative support staff member for staff team in the priority determined by Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor.

 

Job Skills, Attributes  & Qualifications

The Director will have a demonstrated and/or developing capacity in the following character traits and competencies:

 

  • A thriving personal relationship with Jesus Christ, as well as a passion for the local church and alignment with the vision of Passion Church.
  • At least two years of experience in leading a vibrant kids ministry, with a track record of successeful recruitment, development and oversight of teams and environments.
  • A commitment to a lifestyle of continual growth in both character & competency as a follower of Jesus.
  • A servant’s heart and a desire to use his or her gifts & abilities for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.
  • A team-­-first, teachable mentality that adds to the synergy of the Passion leadership and team.
  • A tithing member of Passion Church, as well as a person committed to a lifestyle of financial generosity as he or she is led.
  • A passion and ability regarding the comprehensive development and deployment of competent, passionate followers of Christ.
