Job Description:

Position Summary: The Finance Director oversees the coordination and administration of all financial activities of the organization and is responsible for full charge bookkeeping and all financial and accounting activities. The Finance Director provides leadership and oversight responsibilities for all of the organization’s financial records, bookkeeping and fiscal accountability.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Maintain and supervise all accounting processes and bookkeeping efforts including general ledger, invoicing, budgeting, balancing checking accounts, overseeing investments, deposits, managing all accounts receivable and accounts payable, budget reporting and forecasting, reconciliations, cash flow statements and end of year audit.
  • Oversee payroll to ensure that employees are paid in timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversees the 288 Campus counting team including training and recruiting.
  • Prepare detailed departmental quarterly financial statements and analysis (revenue vs. expenses) and reports overall findings to the Leadership Team.
  • Review, revise and/or develop effective financial/accounting policies, processes, and internal controls according to the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) standards and requirements and submit to voluntary periodic audits per compliance requirements.
  • Monitor all tax, accounting and equipment legislation relevant to the organization. Ensure that all statutory and tax requirements of the organization are met including Charitable Status, Withholding Payments, Sales Tax, and all necessary business licenses.
  • Provide a simple, easy-to-read quarterly financial statement available upon request to the public.
  • Create and follow timeline for compliance with the ECFA.
  • Coaching staff on finance standards, practices and procedures and annual budget.
  • Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation.
  • Develop/train/lead the Assistant Finance Director and Finance Team.  Focus should be to advance skillsets and best practices that will elevate the Finance Ministry to high levels of execution.
  • Assist in the development of a strategic planning for a 5 year plan.
  • Provide input to the Executive Director regarding large contracts and individual service agreements to ensure best interest of the organization.
  • Work with IT Director to facilitate all digital giving.
  • Work with Executive Director to meet with Bank officials and secure loans as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
