Job Description:


The video producer/editor is responsible for and involved in every stage of a film or video project, overseeing the creation process from start to finish, both in the studio and on location. This person collaborates with other members of the video team on projects as well as with the entire Communications team.


  • Video shooting, capture and editing of various projects
  • Directing actors and extras
  • Building, training, and recruiting media/production volunteers
  • Setting up and troubleshooting equipment
  • Creation of DVD menus and authoring
  • Compressing of videos for various formats including DVD, web, and mobile devices
  • Archiving and organizing all archive footage and source documents
  • Setting up unique video sets and scouting locations for various looks
  • Supporting other ministries/departments with video expertise
  • Providing repair and ensuring regular maintenance of media and campus-wide video equipment

  • Know the difference between 32K and 56K (not money)
  • Know what the word “anamorphic” means
  • Know the difference between progressive and interlace video
  • Know what a Red Epic is
  • See a difference in HD vs. SD IMAG
  • Know what IMAG means
  • Know what GenLock is
  • Respect the difference between MAC and PC
  • Understand composition
  • Know what “50mm f/1.4” is and means
