Job Description:

Job Summary: The Church Planting Director will focus on helping New Life plant 30 more church locations in Chicagoland by the end of the year 2020. Responsibilities will include recruiting and assessing church planters, assist New Life locations in managing launch processes, keeping plants on track, and overcoming obstacles to secure healthy plants.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Recruit and assess potential church planters for New Life Chicago:

  • Identify potential church planters among the leadership teams at New Life.
  • Recruit potential church planters from seminaries, bible colleges, para-church ministries, etc. that fit well with New Life’s DNA.
  • Establish an assessment process for potential church planting candidates.

Review church planting plans for each New Life location:

  • Work with Pastoral leadership and location pastors in assessing best church planting strategy for each New Life location.
  • Help establish and implement a launch calendar for each New Life location.
  • Work with existing New Life locations to prepare for multiplication

Help with formation and implementation of strategic church planting plan:

  • Help review the time remaining between now and the end of 2020 and establish a plan accordingly.
  • Work with Central Services to make sure there is good communication and planning time to meet the support needs of the new plants.
  • Assist Senior Pastor and Pastoral leadership in implementation of strategic plan of 2020 church planting.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A spiritually mature Christian in full agreement with New Life’s statement of faith; strong desire to serve Christ and His church.
  • Experience in church planting networks and multiple church plants.
  • Ability to recruit and quickly assess potential leaders. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, financial, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, develop and implement program policies and procedures, and manage changing and competing priorities.
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills. Someone with a business mind and a pastor’s heart. Able to manage people with different personalities, skill sets, and backgrounds.
  • Strategic thinker; proven track record of casting and implementing vision (with various generations).
  • A strong collaborator, coordinator, and an implementer. Demonstrates tact, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
