Job Description:

Overview - The Director of Serve Ministry is a full-time position that leads the Serve activities of the church’s strategy of Worship, Grow and Serve.  The primary focus of the position is to create and maintain processes and systems to help people who worship at Christ Church do two things 1) dive into the details of their personality, discover their gifts, and see how that reveals their purpose in life and their best fit in ministry and 2) connect to the opportunities available through Christ Church to live out their purpose and serve others by using their God-given gifts. 

 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able engage with individuals about missions and service, be energized by volunteering and mission work, and be a Christ-centered team player who is proficient in recruiting, leading, and directing church volunteer opportunities. This person must be a result-driven team member who possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and motivational skills. They must be equipped with a working knowledge of event planning, program management, and be comfortable in transforming big ideas into realistic service opportunities.

 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

 

  • Is able to prioritize and multi-task, using good time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong, verifiable communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Publisher, Excel
  • Must have 5-7 years’ experience implementing and managing programs in a church size of 1,000 or more

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  The person in this position will create, oversee and evaluate the church-wide processes that help people identify their spiritual gifts, desires, abilities, skills and experience that can be directed into meaningful and intentional service opportunities.  As well, the person in this position will create and evaluate a Church-wide internal service strategy and execution plan including working with all ministry areas to align this service strategy and tactics necessary to accomplish the service goals.
