Job Description:

Westminster Presbyterian Church is currently seeking a Children’s Ministries Coordinator to

lead our children’s ministries programs. Westminster is a vibrant church with a quickly growing

children’s and family ministries program. This individual must demonstrate a servant’s heart and a passion for sharing wisdom. The responsibilities of the role include:


Primary Responsibilities


  • Facilitate the coordination, development, and administration of the ministry of Christian education for WPC’s children (infant through fourth grade) and their parents.
  • Identify, train, and resource volunteers and coordinators for each of the ministry areas under his or her supervision. 


Secondary Responsibilities


  • Develop and oversee all aspects of the Children’s Ministry.
  • Coordinate planning sessions with children’s ministry team, parents and volunteers to build and execute ministry objectives.
  • Approve all Children’s Ministry programs, curricula, activities, and disbursement of funds for supplies and projects, keeping within the budgeted amount and maintaining good stewardship of the funds provided.
  • Plan, prepare, and implement lessons and activities.
  • Assure that curriculum materials, equipment, and other supplies are available; assure that equipment, classrooms, and supply room are inventoried and maintained.
  • Reach out to, welcome and embrace all children into a safe and engaging environment.
  • Be available to teachers and leaders on Sunday mornings and at other times for counseling, guidance and support.
  • Coordinate communication about the Children’s Ministry to the congregation.
  • Coordinate with staff to implement and include children into worship and lead Children’s Time during worship as assigned.
  • Create and maintain a fun environment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Associate Pastor.


Education Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education and/or Ministry is highly preferred
  • Three years of related experience is required
  • Teaching and leadership experience is highly preferred
