Job Description:

We are filling the Youth Pastor vacancy at Woodcrest Chapel in Columbia, Mo. We are looking for someone who has a passion for helping students become fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. This person must be a good communicator, Leader, and Shepherd who can relevantly communicate and teach the Word of God. This person must also have the ability to lead the development of ministries, provide pastoral care, and oversee administrative functions.



An advanced educational degree and prior experience in a medium to large sized church is preferred. Must be an excellent teacher and have strong leadership skills including a passion and calling to minister and shepherd Students in grades 6-12.


Specific Responsibilities

1. Attend to his/her personal relationship with Jesus, including their spiritual and emotional health and development.

2. Seek God’s will for direction and wisdom to lead Youth ministries at Woodcrest Chapel.

3. Set and attain measureable goals that lead to accomplishing the mission and vision of the Youth Ministry.

3. Lead and shepherd students beyond the Youth ministry program into a College ministry environment.

4. Build the Youth Staff and Volunteer teams to implement the vision.

5. Oversee Youth safety and security, budget and spending, production of all youth events including weekend services, mid-week services, and youth camps and retreats.


Youth Ministry at Woodcrest exists to help students discover a life-giving relationship with Jesus and build a solid foundation that equips them to go out into the world and make a difference in Jesus’ name.  We minister to students by creating fun, relevant, and safe environments that explore God’s truth, follow his teaching, and connect with others who are doing the same.

We seek to reach and serve those who find church and God irrelevant, and help them find a life-giving relationship with Jesus.


Woodcrest currently has two locations; the main campus is in Columbia, home of the University of Missouri, and a satellite congregation in Jefferson City, the state capitol.
