Position Overview

 

The Elementary Leader will coordinate, organize, lead, & supervise large and small group ministries for all children 1st – 4th grade.  This position serves as a member of the Kids Ministries team. He or she will work closely with the Director of Kids Ministries in order to adapt and implement holistic, strategic Elementary curriculum and programming.  The Elementary Leader will also work with the Kids Core Team to host large-scale Kids Ministry events. He or she will build and support a highly dedicated team of Elementary staff and volunteers. Together with support staff and volunteers, he or she will develop relationships with elementary families in order to provide spiritual resources and support. This position is open to a job-share arrangement where two qualified individuals will each work a portion of the average allotted hours per week not to exceed 20-25 hrs/week.

  • Commitment: A desire to lead Christ Church’s kids to accept Jesus and live a Christian life, along with an authentic love for, patience with, and good understanding of Elementary development.
  • Supervision: Leader, planner, motivator—able to build and supervise teams of part-time staff and volunteers in order to implement Elementary programming and events.
  • Creative Instruction and Communication: Collaborate to adapt and implement 1st-4th grade large and small group curriculum, seeking fresh ways to inspire and capture elementary age imaginations and convey God’s message in age-appropriate ways. Leverage technology tools and applications to communicate with and manage growing number of parents, kids, and volunteers.
  • Organization/Planning: Able to create and implement sustainable tracking systems and structures related to Elementary programming, events, families, and Child Protection; balance the demands of weekly ministry programs with the foresight necessary to collaboratively plan occasional large-scale events.
  • Coaching/Training: Hands-on supervisor and supporter who can move easily between individual and team tasks. Able to discern, encourage and enhance the gifts of others through collaboration.
  • Relational: Able to connect authentically with others and build relationships of mutual trust and support. Exhibits compassion, patience, and an outgoing and nurturing personality. Demonstrates maturity in emotional and spiritual judgment and overall demeanor.
  • Faithful: Exhibits a personal experience of conversion and commitment to Jesus Christ as demonstrated through a vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Maintains highest level of Christian standards in both personal and professional life.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. 30% - Adapt, coordinate, supervise and/or lead weekly programming in the following areas:
  • Sunday
  • Fuse 12:34 (1st – 4th grade programming)
  • Wednesday (Sep-Dec and Jan-May)
  • BOOST Fuse 12:34 (1st – 4th grade)
  1. 45% - Recruit, train, schedule and support great teams of volunteers and/or paid staff members to facilitate weekend and Wednesday evening Elementary programming, as well as special, large-scale events.
  2. 15% - Build supportive relationships with elementary families to come alongside parents in developing each child’s faith relationship with Jesus Christ.
  3. 10% - Perform administrative tasks as driven by the overall church organization and Kids Ministries, such as Elementary budgeting, reports, weekly staff meetings, Child Protection, parent communications, scheduling, etc.

 

Qualifications

 

  • At least 2 years of volunteer or professional kids ministry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Education.
  • Proven track record of using organizational systems.
  • Excellent computer, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, ability to practice confidentiality, be self-motivated and a team player.
