Job Description:

Do you love to work with youth and young adults?    Are you a mature follower of Christ who has a proven track record of leading students to Christ?  Do you have a solid Biblical and theological education that qualifies you to teach and preach the gospel (seminary and/or Bible college)?    Can you work with people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds?     If so, this position may be for you!    We are looking for the person whom God is calling to work with the youth and young adults in our church and community.     This position will be 60% student ministry (junior high/high school) and 40% focusing on young adults and other church ministries.   Salary range $40K-50K plus medical benefits depending on education and experience.   

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):   

  • Cast vision for and oversee the Student Ministry (including weekly meetings of teaching, discipleship, worship, and games)
  • Oversee our Young Adult Ministry aimed at those in their 20's 
  • Preach once a month on Sunday mornings involving youth and young adults in our church worship services
  • Recruit and train a Student Ministry Team of Adult Leaders
  • Establish and participate in discipleship training for youth and young adults
  • Develop a ministry to the parents of teens through parent meetings, newsletters, and individual communication
  • Involve the youth and young adults in quarterly service projects (Such as the 30 Hour Famine, Mission Sarasota, etc…)
  • Coordinate and participate in special youth events (such as DiscipleNow, Rock the Universe, etc…)
  • Coordinate and execute youth mission trips and summer youth camps (including fund-raisers)
  • Teach "The Bridge"--a Sunday morning class for “tweeners” about to enter youth ministry
  • Oversee Student Ministry and Young Adults budget 
  • Assist Lead Pastor in pastoral duties (hospital visitation, benevolence requests, administrative tasks)
  • Be a team player fully engaged in church-wide ministries (outreach events, concerts of prayer, staff meetings, etc.)
