JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PASTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS FOR OASIS CHURCH

 

 

Purpose: 

To develop and lead the worship music ministry for Oasis Church, in consultation with the Lead Pastor and other team members, in a way that is consistent with our mission, values, and theology. 

 

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and execute worship sessions on Sundays and as otherwise directed for special programs.  This includes selecting and scheduling songs for worship and scheduling worship team members for each event; in the event of worship leader’s absence, ensure that duties are fully covered by a similarly-skilled individual.

  1. Participate in the creative planning of the Sunday and special services with the Lead        

Pastor and other team members as needed.

  1. Recruit, equip, motivate, supervise, schedule, and shepherd music team leaders and musicians. 
  2. Develop musical teams and ensembles for services, including developing programs

for Next Generations ministry. 

  1. Direct outreach events into the community via performances at other organizations as appropriate. 
  2. Communicate faithfully with the Lead Pastor and staff to ensure complete short-term and long-term planning, such as song selection, musician scheduling, etc. 
  3. Participate in the life and ministry of the church. 

8.Build relationships with worship team members, utilizing their talents and 

abilities in the best ways to glorify God. 

9.Oversee audio/visual equipment and technical team. 

  1. Manage the worship funds with the oversight and approval of the Lead

    Pastor. 

  1. Other pastoral duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
