What began with just 15 people and a vision to establish a church that would reach unchurched people and help them fully live a life of joy and purpose, New Community Bible Fellowship has grown to a congregation of over 3,200 members and nearly 1,500 weekly attendees.

About the Position:

Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the role of the Executive Director of Ministries (EDOM) is to provide executive level leadership and oversight for a number of primary ministries of the church including Christian Education, Membership Ministries and Young Adults Ministries. Responsibilities include strategic planning, ministry growth, and ministry systems assessment/development and staff development in conjunction with the Executive Director of Operations (EDOO). As with all senior level staff, the Executive Director of Ministries also carries the role of supporting and serving the Senior Pastor as needed in providing general leadership, care and oversight for ministry leaders, members and pre-members of New Community Bible Fellowship.

The Executive Director of Ministries will assist the Senior Pastor by providing executive level leadership in the areas of Church Education (Small Groups), New Member Experience, the oversight of members’ spiritual formation and the shepherding and care of members. Equally important is the EDOM’s direct leadership and growth responsibility of Next Generation Ministries (Young Adults 18-30). The EDOM will ensure that his/ her direct reports are trained and developed to function at a high level of productivity in the areas of ministry development and growth, volunteer recruitment and retention as well as personal spiritual development. The position requires a seasoned leader with a firm grasp on the purpose, values and strategies of NCBF and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission.

What We Are Searching For:

  • Must be able to effectively teach the Word of God (1 Timothy 3:2).
  • Strong, professional and mature inter-personal skills (both verbal and in writing). Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately.
  • Administrative abilities are critical. Able to organize work and maintain appropriate work standards for the goal of accomplishing ministry assignments in a way that honors both God and people.
  • Should be detail oriented and decisive with the ability to organize and coordinate work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be extremely flexible in an environment that is subject to many spur of the moment changes.
  • The EDOM must be creative, high energy, hardworking, and have the ability to motivate others.
  • Initiative, perseverance, follow-through and “whatever it takes” attitudes are very important.
  • As with all assignments at New Community, the Executive Director of Ministries serves in the best interest of New Community Bible Fellowship. This person must have an open, submitted and understanding spirit, should the Senior Pastor or Elders determine a need for change or reassignment.


Seminary credentials, preferably a Master of Divinity degree, but a bachelor’s degree in a related ministry field required.

The ideal candidate will have five or more years of experience as a Pastor or Associate Pastor.
