Job Description:

The Pastor of Worship Arts and Assimilation  is responsible for the oversight and administration of a comprehensive worship program spanning the tapestry of cultures and generations within the church, and the integration of adults (ages 25-45) of a variety of cultures into the foundation of the congregation that produces Spiritual maturity and equips the Millennial generation for congregational leadership.


• In the role with Worship Arts, the pastor will be responsible for the oversight and fulfillment of the Sunday morning /Weekend worship gatherings as well as other worship events across generational and cultural platforms.
• In the role assimilation, the pastor will be responsible for building community among all attenders, particularly adults that are within the child-bearing and young families age group (generally ages 25-45), with the goal of developing servant leaders that are missionally-focused to achieve the Mission of “Building Community in Christ. Taking Christ to the Community.”
• This position requires a heart for Jesus and a heart for growing his church through leading people in worship and strong teaching of the Word of God that produces a culture of Spiritual maturity in all worship teams and adults. This role will require a constant pursuit of excellence, steady growth as a follower of Christ, shepherd of people, and musician/worship leader. In addition, the pastor will manage/oversee the creative and communications elements of LMCC including our media presence, video production and technical needs.
• This position requires someone who enjoys seeing others succeed and grow in their leadership abilities. The pastor must first be an equipper, and secondly a doer.


Reporting Responsibilities:

• Pastor Reports to: Directly to Senior Minister; Indirectly to Elders.
• Pastor Participates on: Staff Vision Team which includes Senior Minister, Teaching Pastor (English), NextGen Pastor, Women’s Pastor, and Administrative Pastor.
• Pastor Supervises: Worship Technology Minister, Ministers of Music, Music Directors within all generations, venues, and cultures.


Desired Professional Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree or higher from a Christian College or University.
• 10+ years as a paid church staff member, five of which at a church affiliated with the Stone-Campbell Restoration Movement (RM) would be a plus..
• Experience working in a multi-generational and multi-ethnic/cultural church and directly working with these groups.
• Training in Vocals, Music Theory, score arranging, sight-reading, and choral/ensemble conducting.
• Proficient to lead congregational music vocally and instrumentally on keyboard or guitar.
• Knowledge, experience and ability to incorporate current technology into the family ministries and music ministries of our church.
• Experience in developing the next generation of leaders through mentoring, internships, and instruction.
• Experience in leading, overseeing, and administrating groups that include Millennial Adults, and programs that develop Spiritual maturity and community (internally) and mission (externally).


Personal Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates commitment to spiritual growth by spending regular time with the Lord.
• Participating in a Life Group on a regular basis.
• Strong relationship skills.
• Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
• Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.
• Support church ministries by faithfully giving a tithe of at least 10%.


Worship Arts Leadership Responsibilities:

• Develop a culture of passionate worship fostered by live worship leaders (when possible) for all ages and stages from Children to Seniors by developing fundamental programs that will train volunteers for a life of service and musicianship.
• Develop servant leadership within subordinate staff through appropriate administration and delegation of duties and responsibilities.
• Prepare and/or oversee the creation and coordination of energetic, lively worship gatherings spanning all genres (traditional, contemporary, progressive, and multicultural) as appropriate, and ensure the addition of new, relevant, and theologically acceptable worship songs/elements in our services.
• Develop and oversee a variety of worship leading teams across all cultures and generations ensuring that the worship gatherings as stated above are appropriately staffed, rehearsed, and available to carry out the mission of developing a culture of mature Christian worship.
• Cast vision, monitor, and influence the musical direction of the church to ensure it reflects the vision, values and goals of the church across all platforms.
• Recruit and train and/or oversee the recruitment and training of band members, vocalists, and technical teams who will staff and participate in our worship services and events.
• Ensure that overall worship services are effective and on target regarding content, style, structure and design.
• Assist with planning special worship services such as Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, and other special programs as assigned.
• Will oversee set design, video production, sound and lighting, service timing, graphic design, consistent branding throughout worship, media and campus venues.
• Develop the people, philosophy, systems and deadlines related to the video, graphic and technical elements of the church.
• Produce creative and effective graphics, in-service videos including: drafting concepts, scripting, video shoots, editing and post-production.
• Strategize creative tactics to use video to promote and send the messages the church wants to communicate to the church and the world.
• Oversee the audio, lighting, and video technology for the church including maintenance, programming and purchasing.
• Oversee the recruitment and empowerment of volunteers to serve for scheduled programs.
• Maintain a strong network of relevant professionals (worship leaders, musicians, technical engineers, graphic designers, web developers, etc.) both internally and externally.


Assimilation Leadership Responsibilities:

• Ensure that “family” (25-45) adults are taught first on the Word of God then other appropriate resources.
• Build a culture of servant leadership within their homes, the church, and the community through teaching, fellowship, and missional opportunities.
• Be attentive to the hopes, concerns, and needs in the community-at-large, and oversee opportunities for outreach and assimilation.
• Work with others to plan and carry out ministry with adults in a varied and wide-ranging program that includes worship, study, fellowship, family life, professional and career integration, biblical family values, service opportunities, and so forth.
• Build networks with community organizations and people to connect the congregation with the community for a strong program, and will look for new ministry opportunities.


Programming Responsibilities:

• Meet weekly with Senior Minister to evaluate prior weekend services and plan future weekend services.
• Meet regularly with the Staff Vision Team to facilitate brainstorming sessions that generate fresh ideas and creative elements for service programming.
• Interface with communicators to ensure a consistent message is being told in program details, i.e. music, video, offering, announcements, etc. across all communications platforms.
• Participate in weekly service meetings to plan and coordinate music, video and other program notes and assets with team leaders in all venues.
• Develop and oversee systems to create detailed service plans at least two weeks prior to the event date including musical, technical, video, and other programming needs.
• Lead regular evaluation and critique sessions to maintain a high standard of excellence and monitoring the impact of service programming.


Congregational Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintaining a high touch ministry.
• Counsel as requested and refer to professionals for extensive counseling as needed.
• Provide leadership and input regarding development, approval, managing and implementation of annual budget for areas of responsibility.
• Participate and assist in events to foster community relations and outreach.
