About the Organization

Located in southern Louisville, Kentucky, Valley View Church (Valley View) was organized in 1940 and the first services were held in a small, white-frame building. There were 21 charter members. Today, Valley View has a debt-free campus of 35 acres and an auditorium that seats nearly 1,500 people. The church has a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people that are hurting and in need of a Savior. With two Sunday service times, as well as small groups and ministries, Valley View is intentional about its discipleship strategy. The church strives to be relevant to culture and the changes of the surrounding community.

About the Position

The High School Pastor oversees the spiritual growth and development of students and families in grades 9-12. 

This includes an emphasis on connecting church and home.

The High School Pastor is to provide appropriate and dynamic on-campus ministry programming. The High School Pastor will also be a member of the Generations Team and will play a key role in connecting church and home through the Legacy Milestone strategy, equipping parents as the primary faith trainer in the home. The High School Pastor will implement and carry out the unique vision, mission, and strategy of VVC in and through the high school ministry.

The High School Pastor will be in partnership with the entire Generations Team to spearhead the Life @ Home strategy to equip and encourage parents to fulfill their duties, responsibilities, and joys of raising their children to know, love and live for Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Development/Ethics

The High School Pastor is responsible for upholding biblical priorities and the core values of Valley View Church. This individual should represent a life experiencing real satisfaction in Jesus Christ. The High School pastor models a strong relationship with his spouse (if married) and children (if applicable), while striving to fulfill their purpose in life and ministry. He also will demonstrate integrity in words, relationships and actions.



  Bachelor’s Degree required.
  Master's Degree or in pursuit of Master’s Degree preferred.
  A minimum of 2 years of full time ministry leadership.
  Ability to teach, develop strategy, solve problems, etc.
  High energy, stamina, and professional people skills.

About the Location

Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky and the 27th largest city in the United States. Ranking in the Top 5 in the country for offering the cleanest water, the city is abounding with cultural activity and outdoors recreation, offering something for everyone. Louisville also hold the distinction of having the largest urban forest in America, the 8,000 acre Jefferson Memorial Forest. Two attractions that stand out are the Waterfront area along the Ohio River, with many shops, restaurants, and special exhibits, and the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory (Hillerich & Bradley), with tours offered to visitors. The Kentucky Center, in downtown Louisville, is home to Broadway Series plays and the Louisville Orchestra.
