Job Description:

Bethlehem Church in Randolph, NJ is actively seeking God’s will in the calling of our next Senior/Lead Pastor. Our 122 year old church is a member of the EFCA and has a current average of just over 250 attenders each Sunday. We meet in a large facility with capacity for significant growth and own three parsonages.

Over the past year we have been in a time of significant transition to lay the foundation for our body to more effectively reach our community through relational outreach and to deepen our congregants’ personal relationships with Christ. Please feel free to visit our website,

Some aspects of our Senior Pastor Job Description of particular interest are:

  • Engage the congregation with sermons and narratives containing highly practical applications that speak to the everyday joys, sorrows and challenges of those in our community with an emphasis on where Biblical truth intersects and aligns with everyday life and experiences.
  • Student of the culture who seeks to understand the lifestyle of emerging generations in the surrounding community and continually seeks to apply Biblical truth in frameworks and culturally relevant ways that engage a modern community.
  • Provide inspirational leadership of the staff, ensuring each one is being encouraged to utilize their strengths and core competencies effectively and that each is being challenged to grow.
  • Maintain a healthy partnership between the Ministry Staff and Elder Board and work together to determine/achieve the shared mission and objectives.
  • Desire to see the church reflect the surrounding community demographically and to see emerging generations become an integral part of Bethlehem Church for the long-term health and viability of the church.
