Job Description:

Associate Pastor of Student Ministries and Worship

The primary responsibility for both areas of ministry is leadership development. The new pastor is not expected to do everything in this description, but is responsible for building teams that do everything listed here. With two areas of responsibility, time and energy will be given to one area over another, but it should balance out over time. Compensation
package will be discussed during the placement process.


1) Organize and administrate the student ministry’s program and volunteer team:

     a. Weekly student meetings (with biblically applicable teaching, worship, small group breakouts and activities).
     b. Retreats, service projects, mission trips and events.
     c. Outreach events in the community.
     d. Finding and training volunteers.
     e. Maintain lines of communication with students, parents and volunteers.
     f. Fundraising for retreats and activities.
2) Build relationships with students in the community.
3) Disciple our students in the Word, in worship, in service, in sharing their faith, in love and in generosity.
4) Integrate the student ministry within the whole church.


Worship Team:
1) Disciple the worship team and the congregation in true worship.
2) Administrate and communicate with the volunteers.
     a. Work within the identity of the church for worship style.
     b. Build an identity for the worship team.
3) Set-up the Worship Center to encourage worship and community.
     a. This can include different set designs during the year.
4) Pick out songs for worship and introduce new songs into the rotation.
5) Oversee the tech team to ensure a smooth service and grow our community presence.
     a. Recording the service and publishing on the website.
     b. Provide training sound & video team.
     c. Become familiar with the tech system and develop it further.


Other Responsibilities:
1) Give messages for worship services, working within the series structure.
2) Have experience with Apple/Mac tech. Being able to troubleshoot for the church is a plus.
3) Any responsibilities deemed necessary by the senior pastor.


Personal Responsibilities:
1) Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
2) Hold or pursue a ministry license with the United Brethren In Christ.
3) Be a team player and protect the unity of our church.
4) Have 3 years of ministry experience (volunteer or paid).
