Helpdesk Techician 1

 

This position provides helpdesk support to staff. The candidate must have an understanding that every aspect of the IT network at CCM helps to spread the Good News to everyone everywhere!

Job Requirements:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming requests and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware (So we ourselves should support them so that we can be their partners as they teach the truth. 3 John 1:8): Be ready to help in any situation with grace and love

  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone

  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems (Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands... 1 Thess 4:11): Perform routine tasks with excellence and joy

  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution

  • Maintain and control software tracking

  • Walk staff and/or volunteers through problem-solving process (For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6): Pray for guidance on how to resolve issues

  • Support online streaming and help desk requests during services

  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Wireless Networks (WLAN) and other systems

  • Availability to work on-call rotation during services (usually one weekend per month)

  • Ability to troubleshoot: (Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10): Operate in God’s wisdom and gifting to resolve issues as they arise

  •    o Windows and Apple issues on computers, tablets, etc. o Microsoft Office Suites
  •    o SharePoint
  •    o Other 3rd party applications
  • Ability to proficiently load, reload and deploy systems

  • Create accounts and configure hardware as part of on-boarding process

  • Support audio and video equipment in conference rooms

  • Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters... Colossians 3:23)

Skills:

 

  • Computer Skills
  •    o Know and effectively use Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel for procedures and spreadsheets and Outlook for email, calendars, tasks and contacts 
  •    o Possess excellent writing and language skills; ability to effectively communicate
  • information and ideas in written and graphical format
  • Must have good technical understanding and ability to pick up new tools quickly
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal and company information
  • Previous IT helpdesk and ticketing system experience

  • Be a reflection of God’s love to colleagues and visitors (A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13:34-35)

  • Servant-heart and optimistic attitude (Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves... Philippians 2:3)

  • Mature, ongoing relationship with Christ and regularly attend church services

  • Strong commitment to the mission statement of Calvary Chapel Melbourne

  • Participation in our church body for at least one year

  • A dependable team player who understands unity and works well with people at all levels of the organization (Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3)

  • Self-starter, multi-tasker who can work with little supervision or direction

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and adaptability to change

  • High school diploma or GED (pursuing or completed AS degree in IT)

  • CompTIA A+ certification is preferred
