Position Description: Children’s Ministry Director

Brookside Church located in Fort Wayne, IN and is part of the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches.  Brookside is an authentic, Gospel-centered church community rooted in the Christian faith while reaching into the ever shifting culture of today.  Brookside Church is a family looking for an organized, vision driven outgoing individual to lead our Children’s Ministry who is committed to helping children, volunteers and parents move closer to God through Jesus.  

The next Children’s Director at Brookside Church will bear the responsibility of helping children and their families move closer to God through Jesus Christ.  The Children’s Director will establish goals and objectives for our Children’s ministry (birth – 4th grade) and initiate strategies to fulfill them. This position leads the Brookside Children’s Ministry team to grow spiritually, relationally, in ministry and excellence. The Children’s Director must also support the spiritual development processes and procedures that lead to parents becoming the lead faith trainers of their homes. They will also implement the vision, organize weekly ministry, train volunteers, and foster the spiritual, and relational foundations for the families of Brookside Church.

Primary Functions
Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages birth – 4th grade, including Sunday. mornings, Wednesday nights, summer programming, special events, etc…
Oversee and implement curriculum for each program and each age level.
Create environments and programming to foster learning and encourage spiritual growth.
Recruit, train, schedule and lead teams of volunteers..
Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.
Coordinate spacial events such as outreach, Child Dedications, Family Nights etc…
