Job Description:

General Employment & Overview of the Position:

The Student Pastor shall be employed by the Lead Pastor with vital input from the Elder team and will be responsible to the Executive Pastor for executing the duties of the position.



To pastor and oversee Bridge Church’s middle and high school student ministries.


Goal of this Position:

To create, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate processes that lead youth to love Jesus and His church, grow spiritually, discover their role in ministry, and understand their life’s mission in the world.


Time Commitment:

  • Full time position
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • 60% in the field and 40% in the office


Job Summary:


1. Sunday Morning:

  • Work with staff to make Sunday morning services successful and welcome all who attend.
  • Meet and greet any students from grades 6-12.

2. Weekly:

  • Develop a student worship experience.
  • “Pastor” students in their spiritual journey and coach them through difficult situations. 
  • Develop and oversee systems to keep accurate records of all students, parents, and families.
  • Develop and oversee systems to keep accurate attendance for student services and events.
  • Develop and implement effective follow-up for first time youth visitors and students who are absent.

3. Monthly:

  • Develop and invest in leaders through monthly training sessions.
  • Encourage high school seniors and adult leaders to further their leadership skills through the Bridge Leadership Path.

4. Quarterly:

  • Connect with area schools and parents of youth in the community.
  • Plan and conduct quarterly outreach events.
  • Plan paid and free events for students. 

5. Annually:

  • Help Bridge Church meet or exceed its organizational objectives outlined each year.
  • Have the Student Ministry activity schedule completed for each month.
  • Conduct a student camp, weekend retreat, and a missions trip.
  • Conduct a fundraiser.



  • Must be a born again Christian, who believes in the gifts of the Spirit, and feels a call by God into ministry. 
  • Must have organizational and administrative gifts.
  • Must be diligent, and able to bring ideas and programs to successful completion.
  • Must possess a commitment to personal growth and the growth of the ministry.
  • Must be a person of character being faithful in the things of the Lord as to not hinder his/her witness and ministry.
  • Must be able to successfully develop and work with a team creating positive results.
  • Must be committed to the growth and development of individuals for leadership.
  • Must be able to manage time well, and work without constant supervision.
  • Must possess a great attitude, and sense of humor, and work in harmony with the pastoral and lay staff.


Working Relationship:

Will be directly accountable to the Executive Pastor.
