Job Description


Ministry Purpose

  • To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care, provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and function, supervise paid staff, and conduct ordinances and functions of worship.  The pastor will lead, feed and protect the congregration.


Position Qualifications

  • Serving relationships:  The Pastor serves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Church body.  They will directly receive counsel from the Advisory Board.  
  • Credibility:  The Pastor will uphold a positive reputation among a wide variety of people.  This includes having a lifestyle that builds credibility with personal practices of being trustworthy, showing concern for people, and being morally pure in all walks of life.


Primary Functions:

  • Adheres to the Church adopted Bylaws, Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains proper priorities at home with family and children.
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to assess the past and present as well as step toward the future through innovation and implementation.  They will not only be self-motivated, but also able to motivate others to action.
  • The Pastor will be a member of all church committees and board as appropriate.
  • Plan and conduct worship services, developing sermons, planning with music leadership and leads in the observance of ordinances.
  • Leads the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission with vision, purpose and priority.
  • Leads and demonstrates effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.
  • Visits and ministers to members and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities and hospitals.
  • Conducts counseling sessions, performs wedding ceremonies and conducts funeral services.
  • Oversees, along with Advisory Board, all church disciplinary matters and the management of conflict issues in the church.
  • Communicates with the congregation through announcements, spoken, written and church social media.



  • Have experience in church leadership, generally we are looking for a person who has had a minimum of five years’ experience as a Pastor of a church our size.



  • Supply three (3) Deacon References from churches that you have pastored (Include Contact name, address and phone numbers)
  • Provide list of previous church’s pastored with length of service
