Summary  

The executive level of leadership at Epic is comprised of the Lead Pastor and multiple Executive Pastors or Directors. Currently, there are three Executive Pastor roles (see description of each XP’s  responsibilities below). This document specifically pertains to the XP3 position.

 

XP1: Admin, Operations, Finances, HR, Communications, Life Groups, and Building Search

XP2: Location Pastors, Location Operations, Kids Ministry, Youth, and Service Projects

XP3: Worship, Production, Environments, Creative, Marketing, Events, Web and Social Media

 

Key Responsibilities

Serve on the Directional Team - The Lead Pastor and Executive Pastors serve on the Directional Team. This team meets weekly to set the direction for the organization.

 

XP3 Role - The XP3 is responsible for many of the creative functions of the church. The goal of an XP3 is to lead the way in creating transformational moments. We believe that moments inspire movement that eventually leads toward living on mission. The XP3 reports to the lead pastor and is responsible for setting direction and giving oversight as well as to lead and develop the staff and volunteers serving in these areas.

 

  • Worship - the Worship Arts Directors report to the XP3 and are responsible for providing vision and direction for the music at all of Epic’s locations and develop the future of the music department as the church continues to grow and expand.

The XP3 will ensure a great worship experience across all locations. A major goal will be to create and implement a strategy to recruit, develop, and expand worship teams, lead and develop other worship leaders and staff, and work to create the future of Epic’s music department as a whole.  

  • Production – the Production Director reports to the XP3 and has overall responsibility for all the technological aspects of the organization. He or she is responsible for the overall quality of sound, video, lighting, and of the production our media used as part of our Sunday morning services. He or she is also responsible for leading the teams that serve in all of those related areas.

The XP3 will work to increase quality and consistency through the Production Director and production teams across all locations.

  • Environments – The XP3 will evaluate and improve the church environment at each location and work with location pastors to ensure the best possible design and execution of environments at each location.

  • Creative – The XP3 will oversee the creative team leads who create graphics, videos, and the other digital media needs.

  • Marketing – The XP3 is responsible for leading our marketing efforts regarding digital, print, and social media. This person should work to learn best practices regarding all of these mediums and lead the way in their implementation and execution.  

  • Events – The Central Events Director reports to the XP3. Events include all-church volunteer events and trainings, Epic Days, and monthly Starting Point meetings.

  • The Web and Social Media - Considering the continuously evolving nature of the web and social media, the XP3 will be responsible for keeping our organization current, working to ensure that we best leverage these technologies to accomplish our vision and mission.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading worship, production, or creative teams with proven ability to professionally develop content creators.

  • Motivated self-starter with strong time management, project management, and organizational skills.

  • Must have the ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines and deliverables.

  • Can competently drive strategies across several different mediums, including print, web, social media and video.

  • Demonstrate a high-level of emotional intelligence.
