Job Title: Children's Minister

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct all aspects of Children’s Ministry which currently averages approximately 150-200 children weekly.

  • Lead children and their families to follow Jesus.

  • Develop strategies to engage families of children in the ministry and equip them in the

    discipleship of their children.

  • Maintain a monthly volunteer schedule.

  • Formulate a Lead Team of volunteers and meet monthly for communication, direction, vision and

    brainstorming.

  • Communicate weekly with Lead Team and volunteers in order to build ownership, to equip them

    to lead others, and to implement the curriculum on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.

  • Oversee communication between the church, children and families.

  • Adapt and prepare curriculum for children ages 2 through 6th grades.

  • Oversee the setup and operation of all related children’s ministry environments on Sunday

    morning, including check-in, individual children’s environments, security, check out, setup and

    tear down.

  • Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget, and plan select special events as needed.

  • Create a children’s ministry “brand” within The Mount, including a name, theme, de´cor, graphics,

    website, etc.

  • Oversee the direction and health of the Preschool Ministry as the direct supervisor for the

    Preschool Director.

  • Maintain regular office hours when church office is open.

Personal Responsibilities

  • Maintain God ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children third and the ministry fourth.

  • Be loyal to the vision and staff of The Mount and always protect the unity of the church.

  • Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and come to The Mount.
